Geophysical surveying in East Anglia has proven to be less successful than in other parts of the UK, and this is attributed to the soils in the region, which tend to contain much gravel and sand. However, some interesting results have been obtained using both resistivity and magnetometry. Three examples are given, at Caistor St Edmund, Norfolk, Pleshey, Essex, and Gosbecks, Colchester, Essex.
