Abstract Novel acyclic Neplanocin A analogues were designed and synthesized. The coupling of the alkyl bromide 6 with nucleosidic bases (T, U, 5‐FU, 5‐IU, C, A) and desilylation afforded a series of novel acyclic nucleosides. The synthesized compounds 13 – 18 were evaluated for their antiviral and antitumor activity.
