Indolizine derivatives were tested as antimycobacterials against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H 37 Rv (ATCC 27294)in BACTEC 12B medium using the Microplate Alamar Blue Assay. The most active compounds examined carry an α‐hydroxybenzyl substituent in the indolizine 1‐position. MICs against Mycobacterium tuberculosis for these compounds were 6.25 μg/mL
