N ‐Alkyl ( 2 ‐ 11 ) and N ‐acyl ( 18 ‐ 30 ) derivatives of 2,3‐dihydro‐2‐phenyl‐1,4‐benzoxazepin‐5(4 H )‐one ( 1 ) have been synthesized. 4‐Alkyl‐2,3‐dihydro‐2‐phenyl‐1,4‐benzoxazepin‐5(4 H )‐thiones 12 ‐ 15 arose from compounds 2, 3, 5 , and 6 with Lawesson ' s reagent. Bis‐[2,3‐dihydro‐2‐phenyl‐1,4‐benzoxazepin‐5(4 H )‐onyl]‐alkanes 16 and 17 were prepared from 1 and dihaloalkanes.
