The synthesis of various pyrrylphenylethanones resembling cathinone and lefetamine is described starting from 2‐chloro‐1‐(1‐methyl‐1 H ‐pyrrol‐2‐yl)‐2‐phenylethan‐1‐one. Some derivatives showed good antinociceptic activity, comparable to that of morphine. The neuropsychopharmacological profile of title compounds has been also studied to explore their action on C.N.S.
