Benzylpenicillin, benzathine benzylpenicillin, procaine benzylpenicillin, anhydrous ampicillin and sodium ampicillin form charge‐transfer complexes with iodine in 1,2‐dichloroethane, which were examined by UV, FIR, 1 H‐NMR, 13 C‐NMR, and 15 N‐NMR spectroscopy.
