Analogues of classical H 2 ‐receptor antagonists containing aminofurazan moieties as polar groups were synthesized and tested “in vitro” for their activities. Compounds containing 3‐amino‐4‐methylfurazan and 4‐amino‐3‐methylfuroxan substructures show good antagonistic properties. The compound containing the 3‐amino‐4‐phenylfurazan moiety is inactive. An SAR approach is discussed.
