A number of unknown disubstituted 3‐phenylsydnones are synthesized and subjected for preliminary screening. Methyl, bromo and chloro groups in the phenyl ring of 3‐tolylsydnones enhance the CNS depression action while the methyl group in the 4‐position of the sydnone ring does not add to the CNS depression action shown by the original sydnone.
