This SEM image produced by Zainab Al‐Maqdasi and colleagues depicts a fracture surface of Highdensity polyethylene (HDPE) reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), developed for multifunctional composites. The composites are produced by melt blending from a masterbatch containing high content of edge‐functionalized GNPs in HDPE matrix. The image presents an evidence of the challenges to efficiently disperse nanoparticles in thermoplastic matrix that are yet to be overcome. Despite the large stack of GNPs forming the seen dislocated agglomerate, the surrounding platelets are better dispersed and distributed. This has resulted in a substantial improvement in mechanical and time dependent performance of the nanocomposites. DOI: 10.1002/app.50783
