Image created by Dorin Loan Cantana and Mihai Alin Pop shows the result of a simulation process for Von Mises stresses, during static loading of PLA material (printing speed 50 mm/s, printing angle 45°). During testing, the load force applied to one end of the specimen increased constantly and continuously. Tensions developed in the sample increasingly until breaking. Simultaneously with the application of force, an elongation of the sample occurs. The positive results obtained by simulation allow identification of critical areas of the material and values of the load force, the developed stresses determined material failure.
