This image by Sang‐Ho Cha and colleagues represents a SEM image of phosphorus‐nitrogen flame retardant after combustion. A newly synthesized phosphorus‐nitrogen flame retardant can induce a dense and compact residual char during combustion. Also, the phosphorus‐rich char is formed, resulting from the condensed‐phase flame retardant mechanism by barrier effect. From these features, the phosphorus‐nitrogen flame retardant endows polyketone with superior flame retardancy. DOI: 10.1002/app.49199
