This paper by Sung Wook Hwang and colleagues, suggested the novel processing technique utilizing the hollow microsphere (HGMs) as a ball to create the ball mill crush force to achieve the better dispersion of clay during the melt processing. The results demonstrate that the same intercalation effect of nanocomposites was achieved by using HGMs showing almost equivalent value as compared to that of nanocomposites with PP‐g‐MA as compatibilizer. The tensile stress at yield point has significantly increased due to the reinforcing effect of HGMs and the better dispersion of clay. O 2 barrier, one of key factors in field of packaging was profoundly improved up to 32% for PPNG3 suggesting that the HGMs could be a promising filler for improving the performance of composites.
