The cover by Diana M. Martínez‐Ibarra, Jamie Lopez‐Cervantes, and colleagues shows a microscopic visualization from a hydrogel seen by means of a scanning electron microscope (SEM). This image also describes the study of a process to obtain xyloglucan, a vegetable polymer extracted from chia seed gum, the graphic representation explains the obtaining of chitosan from shrimp shells. The arrows in the image show the incorporation of both polymers in order to obtain homogeneous mixtures. The polymeric solution is used to obtain soft hydrogels of porous structure through lyophilization processes, the biodegradable nature of the polymers makes them appropriate to be used as biomedical materials.
