An ultrasonic technology was proposed to measure layer thickness of water‐assisted co‐injection molding part by Peng Zhao and colleagues. By solving a multi‐objective optimization problem, the acoustic parameters and layer thickness of polymeric part were calculated. The variation of layer thickness of polymeric part with different cross sections along the flow direction was investigated in detail. The ultrasonic pulse‐echo method could provide a non‐destructive and cost‐effective approach to investigate the layer thickness of polymeric parts. DOI: 10.1002/app.46540 .
