The incorporation of graphitic nanofillers into biopolymers leads to a notable enhancement of their physical and mechanical properties. In their research, M. Dolores Ferández, M. Jesús Ferández and co‐workers synthesized graphene oxide (GO) and prepared unplasticized and glycerol plasticized chitosan/GO nanosheets nanocomposites with improved thermal stability and mechanical properties (in particular in the presence of plasticizer). Mechanical properties can be tailored by controlling the GO and glycerol content. This image shows GO nanosheets obtained by ultrasonic exfoliation of graphite oxide used to prepare the bionanocomposites. (DOI: 10.1002/app.45092 )
