Superhydrophobic coatings were prepared using fluorosilane‐treated diatomaceous earth with polyurethane or epoxy binders. Fluorosilane treatment restricted the pores in the diatomaceous earth and reduced the specific surface area of the material, without affecting the superhydrophobicity of the coating.
