Berenice Vergara‐Porras, Jorge Noel Gracida‐Rodríguez and Fermín Pérez‐Guevara produced blends of the bacterial homopolymer poly(β‐hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and the synthetic biodegradable poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL) using the melt mixing technique in a 70/30 PHB/PCL mass proportion. Five different films were molded and different thermal treatments were applied. Properties of the blends can be tuned by controlling thermal conditions during processing. The cover image shows a model of the phase distribution and crystal size. PHB appears in purplish tones, while the orange‐white tones represent PCL crystals. (DOI: 10.1002/app.43569 )
