Mingli Jiao, Kai Yang, Jian Cao, Quan Diao, Wangxi Zhang and Muhuo Yu prepared high‐ortho phenolic epoxy fibers by the two step crosslinking of heat‐meltable spun filaments derived from melt‐spinning of novolac epoxy resins copolymerized among phenol, formaldehyde, and epichlorohydrin. The filaments were cured in a combined solution and vacuum‐oven. The addition of epichlorohydrin in the precursor resin increases the content of long alkyl ether linkages in order to optimize the thermal stability and mechanical strength. (DOI: 10.1002/app.43375 )
