Carbopol is a family of high molecular weight cross‐linked polyacrylic acids widely used as thickening agents in several industrial applications. Pauline Lefrançois, Emmanuel Ibarboure, Bruno Payré, Etienne Gontier, Jean‐François Le Meins, and Christophe Schatz provide new information about the structure of the Carbopol 974P NF (C974P), the oral pharmaceutical grade of the carbopol polymers. The use of a high pressure freezing technique provides the first artifact‐free cryo‐SEM pictures of a carbopol hydrogel, as shown on the cover. The two‐level hierarchical structure is in agreement with previous results obtained from rheology and scattering techniques. (DOI: 10.1002/app.42761 )
