Adhesion of thin films to hydrophobic elastomeric substrates is of particular interest in the area of flexible electronics. Firouzeh Sabri, Derek S. King, Abhi Lokesh, Chris J. Hatch, and Randolph A. Duran directly deposit nanometer‐thick gold (Au) films onto hydrophobic room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) 655 substrates by means of sputtering, thermal evaporation, and electroless techniques without an adhesionpromoting layer. Buckle formation in the filmwas attributed to stress in the film and substrate stiffness. The cover displays a SEM image of uniaxial buckle formation in Au+RTV 655 system under fixed strain.
