Scale formation is a widespread problem in water treatment and water desalination processes. By controlling their molecular weight, the properties of antiscalants can be improved. Polymers are generally of low molecular weight, which prevents the bridging of suspended solids, but of sufficient structure to adhere to developed scale formations, acting as anti‐precipitants and de‐scalants. The cover shows the change of crystal habit, size, and modifications brought about by the addition of the YMR‐A polymer for CaCO 3 and CaSO 4 crystals by Yousef Alroomi and Kaneez Hussain. The results show that YMR‐A series polymers are highly effective scale inhibitors. DOI: 10.1002/app.39827
