The image shows a typical two‐phase structure for ABS polymer, a grafted polybutadiene rubber phase dispersed in a SAN matrix as the continuous phase, as presented on page 2458 by Binbin Liu and Hua Lei. It is a characteristic sea‐island structure where the rubber resembles islands embedded in the SAN matrix sea. Similar sea‐island structures in the SAN‐grafted rubber phase can be seen, where the rubber phase is the continuous phase and the SAN section grafted on the rubber is dispersed in this continuous phase, resulting in the multi‐level structure of the island in the sea, and the sea within the island.
