The optical image shows a nanofibrous electrospun membrane with controlled pattern. The highest density fibers tend to arrange in a parallel manner, while there are also nanofibers deposited as sidelines and diagonals between the cross points. In the work by He Xu, Wenguo Cui, and Jiang Chang on page 1550 , the composite patterned PDLLA/PCL scaffolds are fabricated via electrospinning, and the order, degree, and contractibility of patterned composite scaffolds with different PDLLA/PCL ratios are investigated.
