Poly(epichlorohydrin) possessing chloromethyl side groups in the main chain was used in the atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate and styrene to yield poly(epichlorohydrin‐ g ‐methyl methacrylate) and poly(epichlorohydrin‐ g ‐styrene graft copolymers. The polymers were characterized by 1 H NMR spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, and fractional precipitation method. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
