The kinetics and mechanism of grafting of acrylonitrile (AN) onto sodium alginate (SA) using Fenton's reagent (Fe 2+ –H 2 O 2 ) has been studied. The experimental results are found to be in good agreement with the proposed kinetic scheme. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
