Photo‐viscoplasticity for finding the stress distribution in a plastically deforming polymer solid is discussed by using the deduced stress‐optic relation. As an example, a practical application is shown for tension of the strip having semicircular notches in the plane stress state. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
