The curing of silicone lattices has been studied using 29 Si NMR spectroscopy. It has been found that cross‐linking occurs prior to removal of the water. Stabilizers prevent gelation by slowing down the rate of condensation, particularly of higher functionality cross‐linkers. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
