Free radicals of fibers treated with low temerature plasma

Cotton, linen, polynosic rayon, standard rayon, nylon 6, and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fibers were treated with low temperature plasmas of O 2 , N 2 , Ar, CF 4 , and CO. The relative free‐radical intensities obtained by ESR spectra increased in the following order: linen > cotton > polynosic rayon > standard rayon > nylon 6 ≈ PET and CF 4 > CO > Ar > N 2 > O 2 .
