Magnesium aluminum alkyls containing higher (C 4 –C 10 ) radical swere studied as components of Ziegler–Natta catalysts in styrene polymerization. The effects of alkyl radical length and MgR 2 contents in the components mentioned on the degree of TiCl 4 reduction and sterospecific activity of the catalysts were investigated. The components studied exdhibited high reducing (for TiCl4) and catalytic a tivities. Moleculear weight of the synthesized isotactic polystyrene was abnormally high.
