Dimethacrylic esters of di‐, tri‐, and tetraethylene glycols; trimethacrylic ester of trimethylolpropane and tetramethacrylic ester of pentaerythritol were prepared by a commercially viable process in high yields and purity. These methacrylic esters were systematically characterized by infrared, 1 H and 13 C nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopic methods. Anaerobic adhesive compositions were made based on each monomer, and their torque strengths were compared.
