Measurements of the bending hysteresis of polyethylene, polypropylene, and poly(vinyl chloride) films are described. A Shirley Cyclic Bending Tester was used, and value for coercive couple, flexural rigidity, and bending recovery are given for low and medium curvatures, 0.4 and 4.5 mm −1 , respectively. Bending in different directions and data for monofilaments and a tape are included for comparison.
