A method for determining the distribution of olefinic bonds in elastomers has been developed using dual detector GPC analysis of the polymer after derivatization with 2,4‐dinitrobenzenesulfenyl chloride. The method is particularly useful for determining the distribution of olefinic bonds in hydrocarbon copolymers having small levels of unsaturation.
