A simple, moderately high shear capillary viscometer which can be used up to a shear rate of 150,0000 sec −1 is described. The use of a twin viscometer arrangement has eliminated the need of elaborate pressure control and adjustment units. Experimental results obtained by use of the viscometer to measure the specific viscosities of a charged colloid at two different shear rates are presented.
