Abstract Porous conducting polypyrrole (PPy) films have been obtained by electrochemical synthesis–solvent extraction method. The results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) show that the size and the distribution of pores can be controlled during the electrochemical synthesis. The porous PPy films have sufficiently good mechanical properties, and electrochemical voltammetric studies imply that the porous films also have high electrical conductivity and good electrochemical reversibility. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
