2‐Vinyl pyridine (2VP)‐methyl methacrylate (MMA) copolymers with different molar ratios were prepared. Their electrical properties were studied in the presence of Co(CH 3 COO) 2 . It was found that the electrical properties of the copolymer were changed by altering the molar ratio of 2VP : MMA and by varying the concentration of Co(CH 3 COO) 2 . The highest electrical conductivity was found when the 2VP : MMA molar ratio was 1 : 1. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 80: 2145–2153, 2001
