The synthesis of poly(methylmethacrylate) in the presence of diphenylbutadiene chromium tricarbonyl under radical initiation and temperature conditions that approach those in industry proceeds without autoacceleration and is characterized by a linear increase in the polymer molecular weight with conversion.
