The structure of the pentamethylcyclopentadienyliron boryl complex (η 5 ‐C 5 Me 5 )Fe(CO) 2 B(tmg) (tmg = trimethylene glycolato, OCH 2 CH 2 CH 2 O), reveals a planar three‐coordinate boryl ligand and an FeB distance significantly in excess of that reported for related catecholboryl complexes.
