The title compound is a polymorph of [Na 11 (OSiMe 3 ) 10 (OH)] and was crystallized from a toluene solution containing NaOSiMe 3 and water. The molecular structure is best described as being composed of two subunits, a square antiprism built from eight sodium atoms and an Na 4 O 4 heterocubane, both sharing a sodium atom.
