In the last decades, heterogeneous catalysis has emerged as a promising approach for sustainable synthesis. Among this, metal‐based graphene oxide (GO) as catalysts is widely used due to their unique properties such as physical and thermal stability of the catalysts in successive reaction runs and reusability. Metal‐supported GOs are quite prevalent and probably suitable acidic catalysts for both research laboratories and industrial processes. Herein, we have described the catalytic efficiency of various metal‐supported GO catalysts in different organic transformations like oxidation, reduction, multicomponent reactions, alkylation, condensation, dehydration, dehydrogenation, and Suzuki, Heck, and Sonogashira reactions. This article has been divided into three subsections: (i) GO‐supported metal as a catalyst, (ii) GO‐supported bimetal as a catalyst, and (iii) GO‐supported metal oxide as a catalyst for the easier understanding of the vast community of researchers. The foremost aim of this article is to summarize the uses of metal‐supported GO in the preparation of diverse synthetic molecules. The recent advancements in GO metal composites as catalysts with their applications have been deliberated.
