1‐Bromoallyl bromides are carbonylatively cyclized with anilines under carbon monoxide pressure in DMF in the presence of a catalytic amount of a palladium catalyst along with a base to give the corresponding 1‐aryl‐1 H ‐pyrrol‐2(5 H )‐ones in moderate to good yield.
