A novel dinuclear Pd(II)– N ‐heterocyclic carbene complex derived from proline was successfully synthesized and its structure was confirmed unambiguously by X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction. Furthermore, the complex was found to be a good catalyst in the Mizoroki–Heck reaction of aryl iodides and bromides with acrylic acid performed in pure water.
