Several novel kinds of bis‐quaternary ammonium peroxotungstates and peroxomolybdates, such as PhCH 2 N(CH 2 CH 2 ) 3 NCH 2 Ph[W 2 O 3 (O 2 ) 4 ], PhCH 2 N(CH 2 CH 2 ) 3 NCH 2 Ph [Mo 2 O 3 (O 2 ) 4 ], [PhCH 2 (CH 3 ) 2 NCH 2 ] 2 [W 2 O 3 (O 2 ) 4 ] and [PhCH 2 (CH 3 ) 2 NCH 2 ] 2 [Mo 2 O 3 (O 2 ) 4 ], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and Raman spectroscopy. Their catalytic properties in mild oxidation of benzyl alcohol and ring‐substituted benzyl alcohols were investigated with aqueous 30% H 2 O 2 under halide‐ and organic solvent‐free conditions.
