Antibiotics A gold nanosheet binds to lipopolysaccharide (LPS), preventing free LPS from binding colistin. This increases the antibacterial efficacy of colistin, decreasing the required dose and the risk of resistance, as reported by S. Y. Lin et al. in their Communication on page 1430.
