Saturated benzene mimetics , 2‐oxabicyclo[2.1.1]hexanes, were synthesized as described by P. K. Mykhailiuk and co‐workers in their Communication on page 7161. The cover picture shows a constellation of such a molecule, which was designed as a water‐soluble analogue of both bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes and meta ‐disubstituted benzenes. The key reaction in the synthesis is an iodocyclization. The obtained compounds are chemically and metabolically stable, and are ready for direct use in medicinal chemistry projects.
