The first nickel‐catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of N‐sulfonyl imines using H 2 gas as a hydrogen source has been realized with high catalytic activity (S/C up to 10 500) and excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99.7% ee ). Compared with other transition‐metal catalysts (Rh, Ru, Ir, Pd, etc.), earth‐abundant and inexpensive Ni catalysts are preferable for the preparation of chiral amines on an industrial scale. Details of the study are presented by W. Zhang et al. in their Communication on page 7329.
