A chloride‐free electrolyte termed magnesium fluorinated pinacolatoborate, Mg[B(O 2 C 2 (CF 3 ) 4 ) 2 ] 2 , is reported by T. L. Liu and co‐workers in their Communication on page 6967 ff. This electrolyte demonstrates reversible Mg deposition with a low overpotential of 197 mV and an anodic stability of 4.0 V versus Mg. This enabled the production of a high‐voltage, rechargeable Mg/MnO 2 battery with a discharge capacity of 150 mAh/g.
