Starting from [Cp* 2 Sm] , the samarium polyarsenide complexes [(Cp* 2 Sm) 2 (μ‐η 2 :η 2 ‐As 2 )] and [(Cp* 2 Sm) 4 As 8 ], the largest molecular polyarsenide of the f‐elements, were obtained. The picture shows the formation of the polyarsenides As 2 2− and As 8 4− from elemental As 0 nanoparticles (top) and the formation of As 2 2− from yellow arsenic (As 4 ) (bottom).
