The “highly oxidized” all‐ferric [Fe 4 S 4 (Sar) 4 ] cluster has been synthesized and characterized, as reported by K. Tatsumi et al. in their Communication on page 11594 ff. Isolation of this all‐Fe III cluster indicates the interesting possibility that the Fe 4 S 4 ferredoxin in nature could also exist in the all‐ferric state.
