The binding affinities of Be 2+ cations towards bio‐relevant functional groups have been established by M. Müller and M. R. Buchner in their Communication on page 9180 ff. Crystal structures of all the studied compounds, including the novel substance classes of non‐basic beryllium carboxylates as well as beryllium halide adducts to mono‐dentate alcohols and aldehydes, have been determined. With this study the long missing link between the basic coordination chemistry and the life science of beryllium has been established.
