A germanium analogue of the phenyl anion was synthesized by the reduction of a stable germabenzene with KC 8 , under concomitant elimination of the aryl group from the Ge atom. In their Communication on page 4588 ff., N. Tokitoh and co‐workers show its ambident character with contributions from aromatic and germylene resonance structures, which was supported experimentally and theoretically.
